This afternoon I finished draft 4 of SLEEP WITH THE FISHES and delivered it to the proofing/editing team and my expert beta reader. They'll go through it to fine-tune any glitches, and as soon as the manuscript comes back, I can lay out the printing masters and create the ebook. We are on track to get all backers their copies by end of June, as promised.

The dust has settled and Sammy the Salmon has finished swimming upstream now that the Dan Shamble, SLEEP WITH THE FISHES campaign has ended. We beat almost every record from previous Shamble Kickstarters and we wrapped up only $50 short (argh!!!) of $30K.
I expect to wrap up my second edit of the complete manuscript in the next week, then one more polish before it goes to the proofers and then to layout.
We will be sending out surveys tomorrow, so please respond as soon as you can—I especially need to know the character names for those of you who added a personalized character, AND your preferred name to include in the special acknowledgments, since we passed our $26K stretch goal.
Remember, this is also your last chance to add an extra book, or coffee mug, or audiobook set. As I edit SLEEP WITH THE FISHES, to keep myself in a zombie P.I. mood, I have been listening to the audiobooks myself. So far, I am up to the fifth book in the series, SLIMY UNDERBELLY (one of my favorites!). If you haven't listened to the audiobooks, you should give it a try—I am the narrator, and you can hear exactly how I picture Dan Shamble and the other characters (and I even get my own jokes!)
Rebecca and I spent last week in Hollywood, where we were instructors for the Writers of the Future workshop, and we also got dressed up fancy to present awards at the gala awards ceremony. I think we clean up rather well.

This has been an exhausting Dan Shamble marathon, but now it's time for a well-deserved rest. I think I'll go SLEEP WITH THE FISHES.
You all helped make this one of the most successful zombie P.I. Kickstarter campaigns ever, and we beat many of our previous records. Let's have a toast with your beverage of choice.
We'll be collecting the data and sending out surveys soon. We sold out of almost all the limited add-ons. AND because we passed our $26K stretch goal, I'll do a special Kickstarter-only edition of SLEEP WITH THE FISHES with an acknowledgements section listing every one of you. (The survey will ask for the name you want used, so be sure to respond.)
Meanwhile, I'll edit a few more chapters this afternoon. Thanks again.
